Ordering C6 Z-51 within a week or two.. Anything i should know!?
Pretty much getting every option available (3LT). Only going with the single transparent roof package, polished wheels, and NO nav. (wanted chrome, but they are on constraint still)
I realllllllllly cannot decide between the Le Mans Blue and Black.......... I know pics dont do the blue justice, but black looks so damn sweet too.... Big $ decision here!
I'm sooooooooo worried about the up-keep on black... We have tonsssssssss of bugs here in MN that collect on the front.. I know that with the constant scraping of bugs is going to clear coat scratch the hell of the front nose.... I had a black Yukon that had horrible clear coat scratching.. So bad in fact, that i really didnt want to wash it anymore it was almost a gray color in the sun! I dont think I could handle black!?
They will both contact the same amount of bugs. Both will take work to keep them nice. Buy the color you like. Looked at one this week at the dealers. Those boys are really expensive. The one I saw was $55K, (Coupe).

My 05 coupe was LB, my 06Z is Black. I'd say you have about the same amount of exterior care with both. The blue is so dark, it shows dust almost as badly as the black.

I have the 05 Z51 Blue vert and I am soooo pleased with it! Looks so good...everyone loves the color combination...would definitely choose the blue again if I had to do it again! And, I chose all the available options...including the navigation....which those members who know how lost I got on the way to the fest in 04 know all about! Good luck with the car! If you are ordering...I highly recommend going to the factory to watch it being built! It's an experience of a lifetime!

Thanks for the info PeggC6!
Questions for you!
1. How do you get more info on the watching of your vette being built!? I'd love to see this! I know Norm did this wth his new C6 Z06. I was curious, but never asked! (part of museum delivery?)
2. What color interior did you go with?
3. Does your car have option package 3LT or 2LT? (mine is saved in the dealers order program as 3LT, but thinking of going w/ the 2LT. I got a little piggish on options for my budget I think!)
The loaded coupe I saw at the dealer was over $55K and they had a vert that was also loaded and it was pushing into a new Z's zone. Can't remember the price of the vert but thought I would buy a Z for a few dollars more. That was just crazy money for Those cars.

Thanks you!
1. As soon as you have your order numberYou just need to contact the Factory and set up an appointment with Kevin to watch it being built. He schedules the tours first come first serve. So, the sooner you schedule it after ordering...the better. Kevin can give you an estimated date of build...then, closer to time, he can better adjust the date according to production levels. Museum delivery is not required to get the tour and watch your car.(Although I do highly recommend it!) They offer a wealth of info..plus, all your friends and family can see your car live in the museum on display! The whole process is so cool! The staff made me feel like royalty! Workers thanked me for purchasing....Although cameras are not allowed, Kevin has a camera and used it to take my pic in the car while it was hanging on the line. The staff also let me put on a part myself! That was really cool! Then, I got to be the one to first start the car....got to drive it off the line...that was soooo cool! To be the first person to make those wheels turn...it was just amazing!
2. I chose the LeMans Blue with gray top and steel gray interior! I absolutelty love it!
3. I love all the options I chose...oh wait, that was all of them! Seriously, though, I couldn't imagine having one without the heads up display! Makes driving much easier! Plus, the only thing I didn't like about mine was the xm antenna on the back...they have fixed it for this year!
I know I'm kinda long on words...but I could talk about my car all day!
