One thing that I have yet to figure out is how you would get into and out of the C6 when the battery dies. I read that it has a backup regular metal key somewhere to get into, but where is the keyslot?
And what happens if it dies with you in it? Are you trapped forever inside?

Since trapping customers in cars would not be a thinkable event Chevy would not design a car that way. If you are on the inside pulling on the handle will let you out since you are pulling on mechanical linkages. As to being on the outside with a dead battery you have the same issue with the current C5 and the key fobs. You just push in the key and turn the lock mechanically, no power required. As to where the key is used etc we will have to wait to see or hear more detailed information, not to worry.

Speculation: mechanical lock allows access to the hatch area. Mechanical gas door release reveals hidden mechanical locking mechanism for the driver door?
After typing this, it seems too involved. Probably much easier than this.
Worst comes to worst they will probably still have the manual trunk release from the inside (those strange wires inside the carpet slits on the C5s). May not be a comfortable path.... but better than the alternative.
It's got a ripcord for the door and fuel lid, iirc. If you're outside, there's a manual lock by the rear license plate (perhaps mounted vertically above it) that you can insert a key in and turn to release the hatchback. Then you reach in and pull the release.
