So what are the details on it? Is that going to be the standard rim since it's painted. If so this freak show has gone too far.

Oh yea, I forgot, first model runs have to come with the ugliest wheels you can dream of so we can make the aftermarket wheel companies rich! (slapping self upside head)

I am not sure what the deal is on this wheel, whther it is an option, standard wheel or what. However I saw several C6 at the bash last weekend and NONE of them had this wheel. They were all the 5 spoke design that we have all seen in the pictures.

If it's an option I don't think it'll get picked toooo often.. . If it's the standard wheel then Jub Jub's right... the aftermarket wheel companies are going to be very rich!!

They are as ugly as that front plate mount and the third brake light housing and the XM antenna on the roof. Man, they got some bugs to work out here. Maybe a little change in the design team would help before they screw up the Z...

Here's the real deal on the new 10 spoke wheels:

Corvette will offer GM authorized, genuine parts for Corvettes. They will be dealer installed, and will be covered by your new car warranty. For example if you buy a new C6 and have the dealer install them during your new car delivery, you get the full warranty on the parts that comes with your new Vette. Right now that is 3 years, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you have them installled at, let's say, 20,000 miles, then the parts are warrantied for the remaining 16,000 miles.

Chevrolet had two new Precision Red C6's at the Birthday Bash, a coupe, and convert. They also had survey forms to judge the reaction to the items. Everyone who filled out a survey was entered into a random drawing for several prizes, including a $1,000 certificate to purchase these parts. Another prize wa a set of the magnetic shocks....a buddy of mine from Ohio won the shocks...congrats Phil!
Survey participants were also given a collectible "CGA logo" silver key chain. The flip side has the 10 spoke wheel design it, and it comes in nice black case. CGA stands for Corvette Genuine Accessories.

As I recall here are the parts they plan to produce: 10 spoke wheels with 3 or 4 different finishes, body color matched engine covers, carbon fibre look center console cover, body color rear CHMSL body painted accent piece, body color rear license plate bracket, behind the seat storage pouches, shift boot, parking brake and handle, trunk hatch liner, and a convertible wind screen tht fits behind the seats, and it has a silk screened "Corvette" on the back side so that vehicles behind can read it, but not the driver or passenger. Some of these items may not go into production, and I was told others are coming, but they would not say exaclty what.

For more info check out www.gmaccessorieszone.com or call 1-866-901-9001. The website may not be updated with the above items until Summer of 2004.

Hope this helps!

Zippy

Thanks Zippy. I'm sure if they're asking for comments they will get plenty on those wheels. But you know what they say, "different strokes..."

Thanks for the info Zippy. I saw a lot of peple completing those surveys in the museum and I wandered what they were about. Looks like GM has figured out what a huge market there is in aftermarkets accessories. But that 10 spoke wheel is ugly IMO. I think the wheels that we have all seen on the C6 look much better. I guess if I were to change the C6 wheel I would probably go the HRE or CCW route.
