It should be VERY EASY for you to post some PROOF from an OFFICIAL GM document/publication/dealer brochure that mentions what you claim about the ECM being adaptive.
Could not find it mentioned in my 2004 factory service manual.
In some circles this would be called "Put up, or shut up".
No offense meant, but there are many extremely knowledgable members owning multiple Z06's, who work on their own cars, who have not heard of this "feature".
So enlighten us, or not.
I don't know about the "2004 factory service manual" but it IS in either the 2005 "Corvette owner Instructional DVD."(Part # 15225993) or the "Dealership Instructional/Sales DVD".
Some guy named Dave Hill spoke of it briefly.
If you want the part # for the Dealership level DVD, I'll look for it.

So - is this "adaptive artificial intelligence" such that once it "establishes" this trend the only way to "undo" it is to have the PCM reflashed back to stock?
I would have imagined if it was this "adaptive" then simply changing your driving style will "reset" the behaviour... not so?
Surely if you started driving like a nutcase again, it would "adapt" to the new driving style?
I don't know if this system is or isn't adaptive. If it is adaptive the reason you would want a reflash or reset is so you don't have beat the he11 out of the car for a couple hundred miles and wait for it to adapt. It's a quick fix. My last E55 had an adaptive system and we would always use a reset so we wouldn't have to beat on the car to get it to run like it should again. It's also called impatience.

This would be the easiest way, however,it can be done by flogging the car. (But I don't know if you can get back to "100% aggressive".)

The computer "learns" 90% from your driving style in 5 heat cycles. The last 10% are from the next 50 heat cycles. That's total cold to total hot...and then back to total cold again. Hope this helps you.
It has an "adaptive hull". Is this what you were thinking of?
Post something besides, it's here, it's there, I heard Dave Hill mention it in a speech, I had a dream about it.
If you post again without some content from a authentic document, I fear your credibility will take a hit.
Nope sorry, no "vorlons" here! No dreams either. If I post it's exact location (which means I gotta go do your due diligence for you) would that make you happy? It wouldn't surprise me if it were on youtube somewhere. (Not saying that it is, but I haven't looked either.) I got it on a DVD,but it's copyrighted. Laws you know. All I can tell you is that is IN the DVD.
Froggy, I know I haven't given you much so let's try a little "experiment." Go drive your car like a granny through a couple of heat cycles. Then "go thru the gears" WFO. Drive about 1 minute, then "go thru the gears again." You'll notice the second time the computer is more "ready to rock-n-roll."
(This will not get your car back to 100%, but it'll sure help getting it in the right direction.) A computer reflash would get you back to "100% aggressive."
Use the same parameters for both excercises (AH/TC off or on) take your pick. (Just don't crash!)

I dont know - without actual documented proof I am inclined to call BS on this.
Other wise every reputable tuner would be asking people to bring their cars back for "Viagra Reflashes" every week.
First you say "its adaptive" and learns your slow behaviour and needs a reflash to liven up again - now yousay beat on it for one time and its ready again.

That's cool with me. I do enough of other people's work already.

Tuners can lessen this impact(but not eliminate it -yet.). I thought we were talking about "as delivered" vehicles. If not, then my bad.

*shrug*
No, what I said is that if you get it "reflashed" it'll IMMEDIATELY go to 100% agressive.
If you "beat on it one time", it'll improve it but it won't get you anywhere near 100%. Sorry for the confusion, here.

Shall we get back to "power loss issues?"
I'm off this thread, unchecking the box, I like to deal with facts, objective, measurable, verifiable performance.

How can it IMMEDIATELY go back to "aggressive" when reflashed - I thought it takes some drive cycles to learn your "driving style".
BTW - are all GM cars like this, or just Corvettes?
I am interested in what folks like Jim Conforti and other ECU gurus would have to say abotu this.
