What kind of prices are to be found on the new 08 Z06's out there? 09's will be hitting the lots soon.
Looking to pickup a new 08 Z06 soon. Need some help and or advise on any good dealer contacts out there.
Tom
2009's will be rolling thunder by the end of July. What I've seen of 2008's loaded 2LZ's around here are $78K. Then I got an email from a dealership in Fl. with used 08 with 1,100 miles on it for $65K. Shop around there are deals to be had.
I would think a good rule of thumb would be at least 11% below MSRP to start with. For a point of reference a premium paint car like a JSB Z with 2LZ, Nav and Chrome listed at $79665 with a internet advertised $10k off is a 12.5% discount. Vehicles with less options have a little less margin in them so they may not be discounted as much.
If you're shopping your local dealers run off some of the interent ads and demand they match them or you'll go elsewhere. There also are some older built cars out there that were manufactured before a price increase that happened sometime after the first of the year. I was lucky, my 2008 JSB, 2LZ, Nav and chrome wheels listed for $78540, identical to the one above but was built before the increase, (an $1125 savings). I was also fortunate that my Z spent its duration at the dealership under their front awning thus being spared the elements. Heck the dealer I purchased mine from still has 2 earlier build Z's sitting under the front awning he's still trying to unload. Use the Chevy "find a vehicle" search and input a zipcode of 30534 when you search a 2008 "Z".
Hope this helps. Now go find you one!!!

Reason: Add misc info
$10,000 off MSRP is good considering the pricing history of this car. I just wish the MSRP was much less as well. Don't forget, GM added $5,000 to the original MSRP for this car after watching the dealers gouge buyers for an entire model year.

That's right, it's a Z06.
I got invoice. Dealers have different costs, but none of
them are ready to sell the few allotments they have for less than the cost of carrying the car. I got flat out invoice, which was $71,045 for 2lz, nav and chromies. If you can get one of the internet guys to sell it to you for $69k, then do it, but calculate in the cost of getting your car to you, etc. I think if there is a local dealer that has additional allotments and has the car you want, then get them talking and tell them that they probably can't sell you the car for what you are willing to pay.... invoice. If they aren't busy, they will do it I think. Good luck.
Personally, I wouldn't buy one of these cars used unless I knew who had been driving it. They could be VERY hard miles indeed. I drove an 06 that I thought about offering low 50's for 7,000 mile car, but it had been driven hard I think. I paid the extra $20k and it is my car and with what I want on it.
Also, I think the 08 center dash is a big upgrade in look, as is the trans and steering wheel column.
Tthis won't help much but I just got a 2008 brand new Victory Red 2lz w/ chrome wheels (sticker 76k) for $55,700 through a local auction that our newspaper ran. I was out the door for under $59k.
I am pretty sure I got the best deal of anyone ever on a new Z06 (other than a flat out give away).
