Rear end axle, inner joint seal leak
Anyone have either rear drive axle assy. inner joint seal (rubber boot) throw grease all over the under carriage of the car? I mean a lot too.
It's going back to the dealership who less then 60 miles ago changed the entire clutch, pressure plate and flywheel out. Before then it was clean as hell with 2300 miles on the car. What worries me is this seal besides once being packed with grease, has inner joint outer race I hope isn't scored up,inner joint cage, inner joint race, ball bearings, inner joint race retaining snap ring, inner joint outer race retaining ring, inner joint large seal clamp, the seal itself and a inner joint small seal clamp. All on the inner Axle shaft side. Keep in mind "The shaft seals facillitate angular and axial movement of the inboard joint". I just hope mine hasn't popped out and it's something simple like them cutting the joint seal or messed up crimpt retaining clamp during the clutch repairs. It had to have happended when they dropped the rear end for clutch repairs.
Any comments appreciated. Will post repairs.
