Roadtrip 2007 Z

Due to death in the family, I just put a little over 2000 miles on the Z in the last week (about 3300 total miles now). Only mod is the Corsa exhaust and X pipe. I was lucky to have clear dry roads across Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota both going and returning.
No issues with the car. Everything works as advertised. Overall mileage 21.4 to the gallon. I was accelerating whenever traffic allowed and braking when it didn't. I wasn't just riding, I was driving. High speed on open road, brake for hills-see open road and put the hammer down. The Valentine 1 is a must. Great fun and I didn't really care about the gas mileage. I got stuck at 59 mph in Minnesota for about 100 miles. There I got 32 miles to the gallon and couldn't use 6th gear. 59 miles an hour takes forever to get anywhere. On open Montana and North Dakota roads, the car will (and does) scream. No wind noise and I drove back into a very strong headwind. Oh, I love the Corsa's. At 84 mph and 1900 rpms in 6th gear, no resonance. The only place I had any resonance was in the 1500 to 1800 rpm range in 6th gear. Unfortunately that's 75 to 80 in 6th. So I'd just run in 5th when it got to bothering me. I'll have to talk to Zippy and see if his Corsa does the same thing. I loved my C5 Z, but I have to say the new one is just a better Z, more refined and yet more powerful. I like the seats. I didn't feel beat up after a day of driving. When below freezing and cruising on the highway, I had a hard time keeping the oil temperature above 150. It sure seemed to like the cold air. What a machine. Coolant temps were running about 192 degrees. Air pressure cold in the mornings were off about 5 lbs in each tire. I used no oil. Oh, did I mention, there's alot of room for luggage and etc for two people. What a great car. I just can't get over it. If you're in doubt, just do it. You'll love it. Long live the Z, the newest ruler of the road for the price and almost at any price. Great job Mr Hill and team. You nailed it. What are you going to do to top this that is still affordable in the real world? I think I've got a keeper.

Sounds like a nice ride. What kind of car did you say it was?
