Brought in the car last week because the horn wasn't working...that's fix. But then I noticed when I was listening to the owner CD (yes I was listening to the CD ) that it mentioned about the hatch having a close assist. Tried several times and nothing so when I took the car to the dealership, told him about the hatch. He said that he had to order the part for it. Got it today and dropped it off at the dealership. Few hours later got a call said that the Z06 did not come with a close assist on the hatch

Too funny. The standard C6 comes with this feature but not the Z.

What's the difference?
At least 70 horse, a few pounds, and about $20,000...
Oh, and NO hatch assist...

That's funny. I personally make sure a door is open when shutting it. A mechanical assist will do it slowly so as pressure build up in the cabin is minimal. But I did it once with the doors closed and windows up and it was a violent event to get it shut. Afterwards I noticed the weather stripping on the A pillars were "messed up" - hard to explain - nothing bad - just had to be refitted into the seams - took all of two seconds.
Never again has that hatch been closed without a door open. It actually closes and seals itself under its own weight.
