I went to a seminar last Monday by the local college chapter of SAE. The speaker was Brent Deep, an engineer that worked on the Z06 frame design and testing. He now has one of the best jobs with GM, he drives vehicles at the Milford test track to see if he can find a weak link.
My question to my fellow Z06 friends is how many components make up the complete car? Carfull, I am not looking for the number of parts but the number of built components, ie seats, gauge cluster etc. And as a tie breaker how many of these components excluding the driveline are different than the standard Corvette?
I will post the answers after the Z06 scholars have a chance to demonstrate their knowledge.

The engineer stated there are 1777 components that make up the car. There are 11 differences between a standard Corvette and the Z06, excluding the driveline and wheels.
The prize offered is to go out and enjoy your car, have fun but be safe. Take everyday as it comes but just remember to keep on smiling. I have enjoyed owning a Z06 for over 43 years and I have many miles of smiles.

That's a statement few people can make! I wonder if there are any one-owners left out of the other 198.
