What makes the C5 Z06s faster than the Z51s?

Guys, I honestly tried the search function, and it kept coming up "Page Cannot Be Displayed"...

The only thing I can think of is the Weight? (because of the fixed roof design???)

Do the C5s have less drivetrain loss by chance?
Aerodynamics?

How much extra power is need for the C6 to be equal?

I dont want a C5Z passing my ass when I finally get my C6

Driver, Gearing, weight and motor.

And remember, C5 Z drivers only have with 1 hand on the wheel because we are always waving - imagine once we start driving 2-handed..

A C6 Z51 6 speed has the same tranny/rear axle as the Z06. How the LS2 and the LS6 makes its horsepower/torque is one factor and the biggest difference is the weight. The performance is so close that it would probably come down to the driver.

So is 5th a taller ratio oin the Z51 then? The top end is listed higher, yet the car revs 100rpm lower - right?

The C5 Z T56 is 0.84:1 and I thought I reda the Z51 T56 is 0.71:1 -- if so, then a swap of the C6 Z51 T56 into a C5 Z06 would get on up to the magic 300km/h mark in 5th gear

My Bad

The C6 with the Z51 6 speed has the same gearing as the Z06 in the first 4 gears. 5th gear is taller .071 this enables the the C6 to have a higher top speed.

No - my bad - I have been slamming and bad mounting Z51's from coast to coast and LA to Key Lago as being over-geared poofta cruisers..

Now I am wondering if I should just source a MN6 for my car instead of messing with the iffy plastic selector forks... that way I am getting close to my desire of a 500rwhp car, and the MN6 plus the extra 200rpm will give me C6 Z06 speed ability.

Lighter weight & torque management on the C6 Z51 make the C5Z quicker, but not faster
