Wheel Pitting? WHo has it?

So anybody else notice the pitting that is occurring on the polished aluminum wheels. It seems to be confined to the area where brake dust spins out when the wheels get wet. I did not power wash the wheel for this photo in order to leave brake dust in the pits the show them better. My tech tells me there is a PID or TSB on the issue. Who knows anything? Thanks.

If these are stock wheels and they have a TSB on this problem have a look at the TSB and see what the corrective action is. If it's a stock wheel and it may have some kind of clear coating on it. The clear coat may have some kind of a problem. Either way it's a warranty issue.

I agree. That should be a warranty issue.

Brake dust seems to have that affect on wheels. I've seen it on other cars as well. Must be corrosive stuff when mixed with water.
