I saw the post below a while back, and I've done some research on this matter. My question is, how many of you are having problems with these pins, and what type of problems are you experiencing (stripping, bending, etc.)? Are these problems even an issue, or is just as easy to take off the caliper to change pads?
We are considering providing a solution, but I just want some more feedback on the particulars of the issue before I go any further. Thanks.

C6 Z06 Caliper Pin Upgrade?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forgive me for double posting - this is also in the Z06 Racing section.
The stock C6Z calipers use pins to hold the brake pads in place for each piston to apply pressure to the rotor. Like the caliper, these pins are made of aluminum. They are installed/removed using a 6mm hex-end socket. While proper installation requires only 33lbs of torque, the effort to remove them is significantly more.
Therefore, pins must be replaced after each change because the aluminum is not hard enough to maintain its shape and may strip with future use.
Since replacing pins after each pad swap doesn't make sense, I'd like to replace them forever with something harder like steel or titanium. Anyone know if something like this is already available commercially?
If not, anyone know someone who can manufacture these? Would be a good upgrade for a forum vendor to offer......
