Would you buy....

a 2006 C6Z06 VR with 6700 miles Borla exhaust, and Aftermartket chrome wheels for $74K? I think at this point I would.

I think that is a little high. I know many dealers are still trying to mark up the 07 above msrp but but the number of cars getting a big markup is getting smaller. If you search hard enough, they are being found at msrp. Plus the 07 gets the new, longer warranty.

Yeah, I know its high and when I go in and ask if it comes with the intermitant roof removal system I am sure he won't know if it has been previously fixed. That and the new brake recall as well as the 07's get longer warranty, he may come down some.
On the flip side, I have been searching high and low across the east coast for an MSRP car and have yet to find one. My salesman says they have 9 allocations left and they are asking 10-15k over MSRP for every one of them. I won't be buying from him anymore. Kerbecks seems to hold the most and they are all at premium pricing. So I say, "I challenge you to find me a 2007 C6Z06 VR at MSRP" and I will be very impressed. Thanks in advance.

Okay, but can you give some reasons why you passed on it?
ie; better deal somewhere else, didn't like the color, etc..

I think I would have to hold off on that one George, it seems a bit steep.

Besides, using Jake's logic, maybe you should be looking for a 70s vintage Boss Mustang since your post count is now 429.

Well, I went by Coopers Corvettes in Triangle, Va. on Saturday and the 2006 VR Z06 was sold the night before. Apparently he got what he was asking for it. As for who bought it, it was another 2003 Z06 owner who had wrecked his Z06, sold it and was looking another. Perhaps a member of the board.
They did have Viper GTS sitting there which I sat in and I gotta say it felt cramped and uncomfortable to me. My left knee was hitting the steering wheel and pinned against the door when you left off the clutch. That was with the seat all the way back. I then stopped at Tysons on the way home and sat in a Viper SrT-10 and just about same result. I don't think Viper is for me.
For what the dealership are asking for the Z06's today I am starting to look at alternatives, ie; BMW M5, Ford GT 500, Porsche, etc.. to see whats out there.

Given the problems I've read with the 06's, I would rather wait for a low mileage used 07.

My friend ownes a dealership that has two 2007s and he is selling them for MSRP. Send me a PM and I will provide you with his number.

They are making too many of these cars for them not to depreciate quickly (Like everything else).
