Xylon - Dealer pitching protective coating

OKay so I picked up my 07 AO Z friday before last and just stopped by a different dealer in the area today to see an AO Z they have on the showroom askin 80+ for a loaded 2LZ.
ANYWAYS - I was pitched a service product for protecting the car called XYLON. It sounded like a 3M clearbra for the whole car or something. 550 bucks but he can hook me up for less cause of my car club.
Does anyone have experience with this substance and its quality maintance issues? It seemed like the super permanant wax job. I would appreciate all help cause it seems kinda too good to be trueish if ya know what I mean.

I've heard it talked about on other sites and seen cars advertised for sale with it. It's just another of dozens of silicon based waxes, sealants. Nothing special about. Does the same thing as any other $20 bottle of wax.

Dealer ripoff trying to scam the new car owner who will pay anything to make his car stay new forever!!!

He's not talking about 3M film, he's talking about some super permanant magic wax that a dealer wants to sell him.

This Product is Spelled XZILON ...

XZILON EXTERIOR SEALANT

The Ultimate Auto Protection - Xzilon Molecular Adhesion. Reduces frequency of car washing. Filters harmful ultraviolet rays. Five year coverage on new vehicles. Three year coverage on used vehicles. Resists bird dropping and graffiti. Resists water spotting. Resists industrial fallout. Resists rust spots. Resists acid rain. Resists tree sap. Reduces brake dust on wheels. Resists oxidation and fading.

Also included in the deal were Fabric and leather treatmment

And it Seems to do all it claims ... Got it for under 400 clams
I am very happy with so far...Dirt does not stick to the car as it once did....especially removing those pesky bugs from the front. Think it carrys a 5 year warranty.

I am fairly sure that my father had this sprayed inside and out on his Black w/ Mod Red Interior '06 Mustang GT. I was skeptical about it at first. For $500 he figured it was a $100 a year insurance policy on his paint and leather from acid rain, stains, bird crap, etc. I have had the GT at my place for the past 6 weeks due to their house having construction. There was a bird dropping on the rear spoiler I did not get to for two days. Nothing ate into the paint. My dad is not a waxer so for him it is probably a good thing. If the car is going to sit outside I say it is worth it. Otherwise, normal washing and a good coat of Adams or Zaino should do the same thing.

From what I understand, it does not last five years, it lasts as long as most other decent products, but for the 400 to 600 beans you shell out at the dealer they will re-apply it every year at the dealer for up to five years.(and hope you don't show up)

I wax/polish my car at least once a year and the water always beads up, birds dropping slide off(usually they smear across the entire hood up the windshield and across the trunk) and the car is easier to wash. That's what a good wax/polish does.

If it gives someone peace of mind to have this done, that's great, but it is not IMHO some miracle product.

BTW: It is sold online for 24.95

The inside term with dealers is called "Rust & Dust".

It's big profit center for dealers. It's either for BS paint protection and/or carpet/interior protection.

Some dealers claim that their cars already have these Rust & Dust items done to their vehicles before you make the purchase and try to make you pay for it. DON'T FALL FOR IT.
