Z06

Dear friends,

Happy New Year to everyone!

Well I'm new to this forum..and don't know much about Corvettes.
Since today I had European cars BMW M3s etc.
Since I have read so many positive articles concerning Corvette Z06 about performance and handling, I have decided instead of buying a BMW M6 to go for a Z06.
I kindly request you to inform me when was the Z06 Corvette (507HP) introduced, and any differences between 2005-2006-2007-2008 models, and also any factory upgrades available.

Best Regards,
Dimitris

Welcome to the site! 505 HP(Net Rating) Not many changes so far. Good sites to check out. Corvette Action Center, and this one and Corvette Forum. Tons of info. The 07 and up cars have the longer 100,000 mile warranty The 08 cars have new tranny/steering changes. Good luck on getting one. Great cars! Don

Re: Z06

Hey, I'm the same way. I had two M5's (still have one) before the Z06. All it took was one test drive. Nothing like it. The M6 is waaaay too heavy. Drive the Z06 and see how incredibly light it feels. This is the key compared to the Euro cars in the price range. Think about this: the Z06 weighs less than a BMW 135. Yes, a 135. It also weighs 300kg less than a 335 convertible.

The 2008 is the car that has the most changes - transmission, steering, etc. Good luck.

Welcome to the site.

Re: Z06

Welcome to the site.

They did not make a Z06 in 2005 so it would be 2006 and later. The 2006's had some problems with the roof coming apart but there were recalls and fixes for that. I'm sure that if you do a search you will find some good information here.

Happy New Year to you as well.
