I think Dave Hill and Will Cooksey gave 20% of vettes produced would be Z06's. So that would mean in the 5,000 plus range. Best guess really? You might want to ask this in the C6 Z06 section where Jdogg can give you a better number.

There will be enough C6 Z06's produced to require dealers to discount them to move them - just like the C5 Z..

Expect the first year C6 Z06 to suffer an extra 20% price beatdown like the 2001 C5 Z06's suffer

Coupled with the normal depreciation, and aggressive seasonal discounts it will mean you are going to be able to buy a lease turn in 2006 C6 Z06 in Feb/March 2007 for about $45K - maybe less.

I can wait.

When our Corvette Club toured the Dana facility (where they make the aluminiun frame) they said that they will make about 7000 frames per year.

The '01 Z06 is 20% less than a '02 or ??

Wow. $68K > $45K in six months? I need to go ahead and get on that list.

I drove my truck over to the local Chevy dealer yesterday (didn't want to show 'em the C5 Z06). They said I could get on the list for a C6 Z06. The quoted $7.5K over list with a $5K deposit.:oo: I told them I'd just keep the truck .

They produce about 3,000 Vipers per year.

Buying used in March 2007 sounds good to me, I can wait. I'll be 50 then.

Make mine blue, polished wheels, with low miles, and no mods.

I haven't been able to keep up with what year it is since the summer of '69,.....or was it the summer of '79? I can't remember.

That would still be a brutal depreciation hit. I'd hope they would have learned their lesson from the C5's rebate program of the ~2004 model year.

Regardless, make mine red, stock wheels, low miles, and no mods. I'd appreciate it if you don't drive it in the rain....and be sure and buy some new rubber just before you sell it to me.
