Re: 2009 Z06, new option?
Maybe he's referring to the new Katech/Stanford Chevrolet package Z06.
I first read about it yesterday. It's a lighter weight car with several factory option delete choices, unique wheels, adjustable shocks. etc.

Katech performance has released its latest creation - lighter, faster and more agile Z06 tuned especially for the track. The new Katech Chevrolet Corvette Z06 ClubSport package gets various aftermarket upgrades that reduce the weight to 2,915 pounds and improving handling, braking and downforce.
Katech added Brembo’s Gran Turismo Brake Kit which gives the Z06 14-inch rotors - 6-piston calipers in the front and 13-inch - 4-piston calipers in the back. A double-adjustable coil-over suspension that was specially tuned by Moton engineers and professional driver Andy Pilgrim.
Other upgrades include 15-spoke 19-inch aluminum wheels, carbon fiber intakes by Halltech, a new lightweight 18-gauge stainless steel exhaust system and Katech’s Performance Appearance Package which reduces weight by 50% while providing extra downforce.
Pricing starts at a whopping $109,000 and at that point we’d rather go for the $103,000 Corvette ZR1.
The 2009 Corvette model year press release stated the introduction of a new Z06 "Spider" wheel design. I don't know if the new wheels are a new "option", or standard equipment on the 2009 Z06. Personally, I don't care for the the new design, but they'll probably grow on me, and I'm sure other owners will luv it.
