The spy we had reporting a month or two ago said he clearly saw 335 rears. I was happy about that since Lamborghini's steam roller size tires have been 335 since 1990 when the Diablo came out, and still are 335 to this day. The Countach still holds the record @ 345mm tread width for a production car. the Vipers were all 335 up untill this new Viper witch has matched the old Countach @ 345 and not to forget the Ferrari Enzo also not larger than the 1978 Countach @ 345mm. If you can't tell by now I've owned 2 Countach's and and love my tires. But I've had 4 Vettes and drive an 03' Z06 as my daily driver, and I am first on the list at my local dealer for the new Z. I have brought up the new Z over on www.lamborghini-talk.com and had some interesting threads comparing lamborghini and corvette performance. If the tires are 325 then at least they are larger than the ford GT.
1978- 1989 Lamborghini Countach 345 rear tires.
Enzo...........345
Viper..........345
Ford GT...... 315
C4 ZR1........315
C6 Z06........?

I hope they are huge......that will be pretty menacing from the back....
Here's a question though.....How will they handle if the rears are super wide? Is it better or worse as far as handling? I would assume better but don't have any knowledge on this....
Hopefully they are wide so that it's easier to put down some really good acceleration numbers...I want to see easy 3's in the 0-60 times
Ford GT's better watch out for the bargain supercar
It's not about performance....It's about falling short of the top again.
Are you joking? You know bigger tires doesn't mean better performance. So when you say falling short you mean because the tires may not be bigger the another car the car falls short somehow?? So you would rather have 355's just to say the tires are bigger then any other car even if it hurts driveability, performance, budget, etc? That is pretty silly.... The C6 Z06 isn't going to have more power then an Enzo why bother having bigger tires??!?!?!

If they go to big it may effect the handling. I would like to see them at the top of the heap, but Corvette has always been balanced in there approach to performance. They would rather have many hits instead of just a couple of home-runs.

Not joking...... 500+ hp? the viper had 400HP for 12 years with 335's. If we are going to have 500hp plus what people add to that, then you need the tread width. It's not about who's got the largest you know what, it's about going after your compitition in all performance areas including the wow factor. I just wanted to see the Corvette step up to the Lambo # even if it's only 10mm. As a Lambo owner you would think I want to keep that all to my self but I love my Vette and know that with 500 factory hp you will see Enzo power surpassed within a month of it hitting the street!
PS: I really just wanted to know what happend to the 335 report from the guy who snuck in and said he saw it. I know we would not let it slide so easy if it were 10hp instead of 10mm.
335mm or 325mm......but....... 500HP or 490HP ???

I have been on the edge of my seat ever since I first heard about the ZO6.Every day the wait gets harder,I sure hope I see a fully naked ZO6 before January.
