449 rwhp Dyno 06 Z06

I just got the dyno results back from a major manufacturer who had my 06 Z06 in their R&D department and thought I'd share the results with you:

449 rwhp

This was on my STOCK 2006 Z06 running California 91 octane "premium" with its usual winterized 10% ethanol mix. This was the 2nd Z-6 they'd dyno'd and the results were basically identical. The thing that surprised them the most was our Z06s had more horsepower than the previous "king of the hill" for unmodified factory cars... The Viper!

MAJOR congrats to the Corvette Z06 design team!

It would be interesting to repeat the test with the same car on 93 octane 100% "gasoline" (I know there are always additives) like is available in the rest of the country. I did a google search and there is alot more energy in gas as compared to blends:
"The amount of energy in alcohol fuels is different than gasoline. A gallon of gasoline in California contains approximately 111,500 Btu (which stands for British thermal units). By comparison, M85 contains approximately 65,000 Btu/gallon and E85 contains approximately 81,000 Btu/gallon."

Sorry, I'm sworn to secrecy since they're still doing R&D on theri performance kit. Hopefully, I'll have their prototype installed soon with some even better dyno numbers.

I have observed two 06 Z06's dyno at 453rwhp on 93 octane. Same day, same dyno.

a guy up the street from me picked up his black/black 06 z last week. he said he ran to almost 115mph in second gear leaving the dealership (no break in). took it straight to his shop (he does custom high performance, bolt-ons and ecm tuning) where he dynoed it with 60 miles on the engine. results were 463rwhp. he wants to dyno mine as soon as it gets here to compare the two.

Can I take mine to his shop to dyno? I used to go to the Mustang place Brother's Performance in Corona, but they no longer do dyno.

Thanks,

If you not making over 460rwhp stock, that means you didn't break your car in right.. Drive it like you stole it off the lot and it was run like a scalded dog

Amazing! I just picked one up on Friday, and second gear ran out of revs for me at 91mph. He really must have got one on steroids?
