Has anybody tried the APPs for car enthusiasts on their Apple iPhone (or iPod touch) while driving your Z06? There is one called "DYNOLICIOUS" that uses the built-in accelerometer on the iPhone and iPod touch. It is an application that can be downloaded from Apple iTunes store.
This APP looks to be comparable to a G-Tech or something similar, for far less cost. DYNOLICIOUS got an average of 3 -1/2 stars from other users and probably will be continuously improved with future (free) upgrades.
I guess the only issues would be where to put your iPhone so that it doesn't move while performance driving so that it stays relatively flat on the accelerometer's x-y axis. I haven't tried it yet, but perhaps it could be secured into the cup holder area on the center console and where it would relatively flat and also easy to view the display screen.
In addition to DYNOLICIOUS, there are at least two other iPhone APPs (both FREE) called SPEED and SPEEDBOX. These use GPS technology and the new iPhone's 3G service to accurately readout MPH or KPH straight line speeds. Might be a way to independently insure our Z06 speedometers are accurate at high speeds.
