Auxiliary power connector

Does the C6 Z06 have an auxiliary power pigtail like the C5 Z
did? For a nice neat hardwired radar detector?

The '04 Z's didn't have the pigtail connector, but the '01-'03's did.

I would assume GM deleted it for the C6 Z's.

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. They have an additional aux power supply in the console.

There is a pigtail connector located under the passenger floorboard, near the fuse panel. I think that's the one he's referring to.

Charlie is correct.

The "pigtail" connector.

So that is still present on the 06 Z??

Mine is in the garage, and I can't get into the passenger side
w/o taking her out of the garage.. I'll check tomorrow.

Thanks,

Jim

Oops! Sorry Jim...I was referring to the C5's pigtail...so we're still no sure if it's present in the C6.

If the C6 doesn't have a pigtail, you may have an alternative. Assuming the C6 (Z or otherwise) comes with a power antenna, there'll be a wire on the back of the radio to control the antenna retract (usually, blue). That's switched 12V so long as the radio is turned on. And it'd be a "stealth" way of shutting off the detector if stopped by a Cop (who like nothing more than to walk up to a stop and see a radar detector going off). Turn off radio, turn off detector.

Couldn't find a pigtail in the C6Z when I hardwired my V1;picked up the wire to the aux outlet instead. As far as I know, none of the C6 models have a power antenna-did not see a wire for one on the back of my radio.
