Same shop that installed my Fusions are cutting out the H crossover and custom welding an X into it... should be the same as an X pipe from B&B or anyone else - right?
Probably will be the same, there's not too much difference in X-pipes I've seen, but you never know if someone could screw it up. BTW, I wouldn't expect the X-pipe to cure your drone... it makes a subtle difference to the exhaust note, not night & day.
I tried:
-stock exhaust (valves auto/open full)
-Fusions
-Fusions with X-pipe
-Fusions w/PRT
And it wasn't till I got the 2cd resonator installed that it was liveable.

I had the stock H-Pipe converted into an X-Pipe, and it didn't make a bit of difference IMO (see pic) - I'm starting to like the sound, but its still a little too much drone... I dont want to lose the loudness (it does sound mean as hell) but I hatwe the drone. Where do you get resonators? I dont even know what they look like...

Here is my thought on them. Awesome!
I do have to tell you a few things I came across that needed adjusting and modifying.First thing is after they are installed they hang too low, remedy was to cut and shorten the brackets on the Mufflers.Next I also ordered the B&B X-Pipe for I did not want the popping sound when decelerating.Problem with X-Pipe was that the Flanges were extemley thick as the H-Pipe was more thinner and tapered, the passenger side flange had between one eight to one sixteenth clearance to the tunnel so when when you got on it the torque of the motor would make it hit the the tunnel plate and would sound like the car was falling apart, remedy was the shop had to grind off the portion that hit the tunnel.Next fix was the springs that hold up the X-Pipe,what happened there was that the bracket that tightens the bolt and spring together were rubbing on the the driverside cooling line to the tranny, remedy is to reshape the X-Pipe bracket and use a strong Zip tie on the two cooling lines to keep them out of harms way,one last item was the Vacuum lines connected to the Mufflers, forcing the little rubber hose to the Muffler caused it to split wide open,so I drilled the one a little larger. But went to purchase one at the dealer and wow did I get a rude awakening, had to purchase a portion of the plastic Vacuum line for $35.00.But was worth the fix. Hard wired the switch into the Center Console, with the valves open you will get cabin Drone and closed you get that lower sound but no Drone. If you want to impress the bystanders by all means open them up for it commands attention.
Hope this explains it all. Again i know i made a good choice.
Cheers Don

I agree the fit of the Fusions is rather poor. Though I liked the idea of having valves, I'm wishing I didn't buy them. I should have just bought the Borla or maybe Corsa.
My Fusions have been giving me troubles since day 1. Ranging from the pipes banging on the transaxle under hard accelleration, to sticking valves, to droning severely on the fwy (enough to give a headache). I added the PRT ceter resonator to cure the drone, and now the sound is great, but I'm still trying to get the valves to work properly (the left one keeps sticking partially closed) and the flanges on my PRT hit the center tunnel plate so badly I can't grind enough material off to make them stop! I had to bend the hangers slightly to position them properly, but I still need to go back & try to raise them even more.
Overall, the B&B's may look pretty & sound nice, but they need to get their quality & fit under control before I ever buy another one.
I just bought a 6-speed '08 vert w/o dual mode exhaust....IT IS TOO QUIET. My wife will drive it more than me, so I don't want it to be too loud. It seems like the new fussion system would be too loud. What about the stock dual mode mufflers from a C6 or a C-6Z?

They would be perfect for you. You usually can find them on eBay for around $500.00 -- Good luck, congrats on the car! --- Also, if you want to open and close them whenever you want, I have the mild2wild that works with the new "CAR2U" thats installed in your visor (as long as you have a 2LT or better) You can have it for $35.
