Backpressure issues

OK, back to the fuse again... can having it pulled (or switched off) for extended periods of time play havoc on backpressure at idle and low rpm's (and highway cruising)?

Are there any forseen negative side effects of having it pulled?

It's like anything else. Your engine is mapped for a stock configuration, air flow, back pressure etc. So when you change one of those parameters the PCM compensates by adding or subtracting fuel while in closed loop. This is all well and good until you go to WOT or open loop. Now you will have slightly more fuel added to what's already commanded by the PCM. It's not really a big deal but not optimum either. The worse case is you run slightly rich.

Once tuning software comes out for the LS7, you can get it tuned and all will be right with the world once again.

Thanks, Jub. That's what I thought ...and it is running rich... got way less mpg on the last tankful. I've put the fuse back in for now. Ordered a switch unit from LG and will mount it. I just LOVE the way it sounds when the valves are open. They should have made it sound like that right from the get go. Awesome!
