Best track tires ?

Whats a good aggresive track tire 1 step down from a full racing slick that is also DOT approved ?

Have you considered Michelin Pilot Sport Cups?

Yes Yes MPSC are Great! have a set on the car. Cornering is increadable now. They stick alot better than the stock goodyears. i dropped the fronts down to 29psi hot and the rears to 31psi hot. Couldnt believe how much they grip.

How are they in the wet. Not for racing really, but for just getting from point a to point b (i've given up trying to go fast in the wet in my Z, but must be able to drive in it to get home) thanks.

Another vote for PS Cups. I think it's one of the best all-around track tires there is.

Not much tread on them for the rain.

You wouldnt catch us in the rain with these tires. It would be scary

Hoosier R6's. DOT but very sticky! Absolutely NOT a rain tire.

I liked the R6's but they only lasted one season (10-12 track days). They are really sticky when they're good. I got one track record and won my class in them. I dont have experience with other tires (except oem) and I would buy them again.
