'Bout to pull the trigger on some mods.......

Just some basic stuff, for now: Borla Stinger, LT's w/catted X-pipe (Kooks or American Racing), Halltech Killer Bee and tuning. I've read that LT's don't do much with a basically stock LS7, but if I decide to go more radical, they are already in place. I'm hoping for close to 500 at the wheels. This Saturday I plan on getting some baseline #s at Henderson Performance Technologies.

I was looking at the underside of a Z yesterday fitted with AR headers, and I was really impressed with the fit and quality of welds, routing, etc. They were very high quality.

Here are the baseline numbers: 444.61/422.04. After some conversation with the shop, I'm going with the LPE CAI, American Racing Headers w/catted mid-pipe, LPE 160 degree thermostat. I'm going to hold off on the Borla, until I hear what the stock system sounds like with headers.

Yeah, I asked Bryan at HPT about AR, he echo'd what you just described. My goat had Kooks, so I'll give AR a try this time.

You won't regret it.

Actually, the Z I was looking at is the one I just bought and it also has the Halltech Killer Bee Intake and a 160 stat. I was told I should see about 480 at the wheels with these mods and a tune. I will be tuning myself since I have EFILive.

The exhaust sounds awesome with the second mufflers open. Don't get the Borlas, you need the mild to wild remote instead!

At the moment I've got the fuse pulled. It's louder at low rpms, but I'm just not crazy about the tone. If I could duplicate the sound of the "Terminator" with Borla Stingers and OR X-pipe, I'd be real happy!

I would hold out on the exhaust also. I would recommend you look into the BB Fusion.

Re: 'Bout to pull the trigger on some mods.......

Got the AR headers and X-pipe installed, along with the Corsa Sport. No LPE CAI just yet, the 100mm TB is in very short supply, but when it ships, I'll have it put on and get a re-tune. She went from 444rwhp to 466rwhp. The shop says to expect another 20 or so with the LPE CAI. I'm happy with the Corsa too, a much more "crisp" note, and a little "pop-pop" on decel. I think I'll go with something like the QM600S cam and ported heads next. Stay tuned.........

Oh yeah, no more CAGS!
