Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position RFT Now Available, thoughts?

After 8K miles on my Z and a few track days and some hard driving, my tires are shot. I'm not too keen on the Nitto's and called TireRack to see what they recommended. I was surprised to find out that Bridgestone makes a tire that is a RunFlat and is in OEM size! Sooo....anybody have experience with this tire?

No experience, but the thread over at CF in the Z06 section has pictures and they look like a pretty good tire.

Well I just ordered them from TireRack $1,574.69 shipped.

Will see how they stack up to the GYs.

My car currently has the interior out so that it can be lined with padding to stop the insane amount of heat coming in.

I was waiting for them, but then couldn't wait any longer so purchased new OEM's for the rear. I intend to purchase these next time around. I'd be very interested in your experience with them. Please keep us posted.

I had the non-RF version of this tire on another car. It's a decent enough tire for general street driving, probably better than the GY F1 in the wet. But, I don't believe the grip or handling will be as good under dry conditions.

Now I need rear tires, I just discovered that one of my original GY tires is corded.

Any review of the Bridgestone yet?

Had them for quite some time now. They handle better, are quieter, and give you better traction then the GYs. I would say without hesitation if you want a good runflat tire in OEM size this is the way to go! Don't waste a dime on the GYs.

I've had two sets on my M3 and I was really happy with them. Excellent grip.
Each set probably lasted me about 10K-12K miles with aggressive driving, which isn't bad. Road noise increased dramatically when they approached the end of their life cycle, which is pretty much in line with any tire though. Overall, very happy with them.

I felt that they were actually better in the rain than the stock Continentals (M3). Never felt "uneasy" in the rain with these tires, even when going faster than I should have been.
