"built" engine?

guy on another board is saying the ls7 is a "built" 427. i can't find anything searching to tell me if it is or not. i know it doesn't have forged pistons. is it not alum. block? i can find a couple of threads stating it's "hardened"?
thanks!

What do you mean by 'built'? It is hand built if that is what you mean. The parts are listed above.

Usually when someone refers to 'built', they are referring to forged internals aren't they?
I guess if that is the question, this engine is pretty much 'built' (except for the pistons).

So many people throw around the word 'built' it could mean so many things.

Hell, I've met ricers at cars shows that consider headers and intake 'built'.

i've always took "built" to mean iron or hardened block and forged internals. think that's what this guy is referring to, thanks everyone

They didn't "chintz" out on the pistons. They are lighter than forged, plenty strong enough (without boost), and are more emissions friendly.
