C6 headlights and lenses removed

I removed the headlights from my car this weekend without removing the fenders or front facia, took me about 20 minutes each; I can assist anyone with some pointers if someone needs. I also removed my clear lens off the buckets; this took about 1.5 hours each. This is all very doable.

The question I have is why did you remove your light assemblies and the lens? Is this required to change the bulb?

no not required to change the bulb; this can be done from inside the wheel wells, you will need to remove tire to change lamps. I am adding HALO to the headlights.

Great work! Man you must have alot of skill and patience. I did the same project with an older Z4 to delete the amber signal and it took me the whole weekend to get it right to my satisfaction. Will never try that again. This time I contacted Mike Yeager.... He did an awesome job and color matched the chrome trim too.

Oracle / Advancedautomotive is where I got these. I looked at several different and did not like the LED that was available, did not have that smooth round look so I went with the cold cathode and they really look great, I am doing a photoshoot this weekend and should have better pics.

I did this on my Ford truck to paint the inner bezel. Had to bake in oven to release the glue. Very aggravating and time consuming! How did you do the Z's? Thanks! Looks great by the way!

I have a 07 Z06. Im looking at the white halo's from Oracle. Foglights too. Did you buy direct from Oracle? I noticed in your pic the Halos were on ,but the daytime ambers were not. Are they off when the headlights are on? Or did you disable them?

Re: C6 headlights and lenses removed

Looks Sharp. Really good to know how you did it. I removed the entire bumper cover last year to add the ZR1 internal brace for my carbon fiber splitter. It was a pain in the ass to remove and reinstall those clips. So I am glad to see the bumper cover does not need to come off again to get the lights off.

I have an 08 in Jetstream Blue (& 2004 Silverado SS in Arrival Blue) and use the blue LEDs in the interior (used under rails in bed to illuminate my pickup bed with the tonneau cover up), but have been hesitant to use anywhere on the outside of the car, due to concerns with the law.

I see you live in Ft. Myers, FL. Any hassle from the cops? I live in Martin County FL and saw a sheriff pull over a guy who was driving with blue lights under the car. Strangely, they are big on unmarked cars and I actually saw a newer Malibu pull someone over and where most of the flashing blue lights from the unmarked car, were coming from the under the rocker panels vs the Christmas tree of blue lights under the glass!!
