I am 6'7" and fit fine in my C5 with about 5 inches from the knee to the dash with the seat all the way back. In the C6 my knee is sitting pretty much against the dash unless I tilt the seat bottom up to squeeze a little more room. Then its about an 1 1/2" away. I don't care what they say, or how it is measured, it is smaller.
last year at mid ohio i sat in a preproduction C6 and it was definitely smaller inside, both across the cabin as well as up and down-- i'm 6'2" and i was hitting my head on the roof. it felt much more cramped than either of my Zs.
Hmmm, every once in a while there is an advantage to being 5'8" and under 150lbs.

If you want to compare actual specs on the 2 cars, here they are.
2004 Z06
Head Room - 37.8"
Leg Room - 42.7"
Shoulder Room - 55.3"
Hip Room - 54.2"
2006 Coupe/Z06
Head Room - 37.9"
Leg Room - 43.1"
Shoulder Room - 55.2"
Hip Room - 53.6"
As you can see, by the numbers they are nearly identical and even larger in some areas.
True if you compare a 03' or 04' Z06 but the 02' and 01' Z06 have more head room. GM had to add more padding into the headliner as per the government requirements. This didn't apply to the coupe or Ragtop. Tom ( Backlash ) and I got this info from the GM Engineer at Corvettes in Carlisle back it August. Tom didn't have enough headroom when he sat in the new Z06. However it seems the Headliner could possibly be switched out for the coupe version.
It feels smaller. Maybe the numbers say otherwise, but I have been in three of them now, and with the seat all the way down and back my head still just touches the headliner. I was with Tom and Tom at Carlisle and sat in the red car. No helmut action in this car! I am 6'2'' and 270lbs. Tight fit! I think my Z fits better, but I like the new one alot.

How tall is your friend Tom? How hard do you think it is to change the headliner? I'm very concerned because i have a c6 ZO6 on order and i'm 6'7. I have yet to sit in a c6 zo6, but I do fit in a c6. If I couldn't fit I would probably cry like a baby. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The other Tom(Backlash) is 6'3'' or 6'4" Taller then me anyway. It was tight for us. Like I said no helmut room. I do not know how hard it would be to change the liner.

I just did a search and it seems that the changing of the head liner is pretty common. Or maybe some sports seats that are lower to the ground would work? What you guys think?
