I think that it would help if you gave us a little more to go on here. You know that the new Z will be newer, faster and more polished than your '03 Z. That being said, you'll pay a premium to get one over your '03 as well (likely $30-35k). Winter is fast approaching, so prices on used '03 Z's will be falling and demand for the '06 Z is still quite strong. You probably wouldn't find yourself in a new '06 Z for several months unless you wanted to pay a premium over MSRP. I guess what I'm really getting to is that it depends on whether or not the increased performance is enough to justify an extra $30-35k out of your pocket. No one can answer that but you, but best of luck in your decision.

with only 8k miles on my eb03 the 35k is def something to consider. your reply is well stated & un derstood..
its was a great feeling when i got my new vette but also a great feeling when i made the last payment & recieved the title..
I go through the same analysis - usually everytime I see a new C6Z. Then I look at my C5Z. Love the shape. It's been kind to me - no mechanical problems. Mod potential limitless. Paid for and have title.... So I know how you feel. Good luck with your decision(s).
Drive your 03, need to get more goodie out of it, very low miles.
Saying that, I have the new one, it is awesome! Such an improvement over the C5s, though that is to be expected. At the loss you would take on your low mileage one, I would keep it and drive it. But whatever you do, do not drive a C6 Z06 - the difference will really make you want to update.

Stick with the C5 Z06 for now. This time next year you will be able to purchase a new C6 Z06 for less than MSRP! I bought my 2003 Z06 for $5K under MSRP in March of 2003. It's only a matter of time til you will be able to do the same with the C6 Z06.
you should really drive one, and if you cannot, you should at the very least drive a c6 z51 --even better if you can go to spring mountain motorsports and drive both on the track.
the c5 chassis is superior because it just seems to talk to you more when you're driving it. the c6 z51 and c6 z06 (just traded 04 z06 for 06 z06) are numb and it's something that is definitely hard to get used to after enjoying the c5 z06. i love the new car and it's a keeper, but i do regret a little bit that i gave up the c5 z06.
If it doesn't put you in a financial bind. I would do it. No comparison between the cars. A lot of guys are saying they can mod what they have. IMHO that just isn't the same, you can mod any car. To me the new style, feel, and improvements to the C6 Z are well worth it, but that is just me. I alway want the latest and the greatest and am willing to pay for it. That being said I was on a list for almost 2 years for this car and paid msrp.

I disagree with this. I had a C5 Z and although I loved the car. I love this one that much more. I would rather take a beating than have to give up the C6Z for my old C5Z. Not that the C5 is bad, it was great, but I think this one is that much better.
