The sound is meaner but there's a lot of resonance without the fuse. And 6th gear is terrible without it on the highway...but downshifting into 5th..4th..3rd...or 2nd on the highway makes it sound great. When I first read that people couldn't stand the sound I figured "pussies....I had LG headers w/o cats and Stingers.....I can deal with the noise"....well...NO. It's really really bad...I got a headach immedately. I will be ording LG's exhaust switch....then mod it to my liking. As far as just driving around it's louder obviously but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Once I get a proper set of headers in it I bet it'll sound good again.
Also..for the record...I saw someone dyno it with and without....no other mods. It did gain a few horses across the board without the fuse.

I got my car two days ago and pulled the fuse at the dealer.Yes there is drone at around 2K rpm's.You really don't notice the resonance until you put back the fuse....You notice the pressure is gone from your ears.

did you have a weird noise at just under 3k while accelerating? (without the fuse)

Hey Gene,
First, congrats on the new ride. Permagrin!
Here's a couple pics of the LG exhaust valve switch I installed in mine (took about 15 minutes to install).
And here's a video of the valves in action (please right-click and "save as")
Note to all: When making an exhaust vid, do not have the car in a building, do not have it next to a building and leave at least 5-6' between it and the mic. Resonance and clipping does not sound good. Thanks.

No problem bro.
I'm going to flood this place with the sickest videos and pictures (proper size ) the internet has ever seen.
I was under the impression that the valves did not open just revving it at a stop. That it must be under load and accelerating for the valves to open. But in my vid the valves open while I just sit there.

Don't be afraid. I have and it works okay. It's fun.
What part of MD are you from? I work in Annapolis.
