If that is even close to true, so will I and, I suspect many many others. It will be too bad Chevy doesnt learn from recent history.

I think it's as in DAYUM that's a lot of $$$$

But what do you expect for all the upgrades ?

If it's in the $70,000 ballpark, my Z06 is looking a lot better every day. Even so, I'll bet there's 5000 427 powered Z06's that will find a happy new owner each year.

GM may have built another ZR1. A cool car that is priced to high for high volume sales. I believe that they make less than 2,000 Vipers a year.

My best estimate was around 70 for the new Z..talked to a dealer in the know back in sept,he agreed..Instead of waiting and paying close to 75G i decided to just buy a 05 C6. GM has already created a demand for the new Z with its supercar specs and photos that have been leaked..I expect intial production to be about 3000 units a year, with dealers trying to mark-up etc..Maybe we will see some sanity with discounts and less market adjustments if GM ramps up production to 15-20% (Z06) of total corvette's produced..

Considering what you will be getting. That is if it is all true to form. I think that it's a heck of a deal.

I'm hearing 70K also.

Sales tax in Michigan is 6%, or $4,200. On top of that our wonderful state goverment decided to charge license plate fees based on MSRP...it used to be weight of the vehicle. Then you need to look at Insurance costs.

I'm with the Zipster on the insurance cost question........I believe that insurance companies will start making it more painful in the hip pocket to own a high performance car
