CHEAP fix for flapping luggage shade

I came up with a simple and really CHEAP fix for the flapping luggage shade in my Z. I bought a cheap (under $3 @ WalMart) thin adjustable curtain rod and slid it inside the pocket that's at the bottom of this luggage shade. It now doesn't flap like crazy when I have my windows down which was a visual nuisance out of the corner of my eye when I was driving. It also made the luggage hang straight instead of being all wrinkly.

And no, it didn't add any significant weight... Probably about 1/2 lb... About a Wendy's double!

Since I have a trunk, I guess I'll have the Wendy's double.

Nice tip

I had a metal dowell in my 05 coupe. It needed more weight since I could blow the top and the air turbulence was great.

In the 06, I just put a wooden dowel in the cover and it stays put with minimal weight.

Great idea - I've had the flappies since my first C5 in '97 and never looked at the bottom edge of the shade . . .

I'll remember this fix if I ever use the shade. I never used the shade or the cargo net on my C5, but I may try them on the Z.
