Dupont Registry say this about the C6 Z06! Worth a read

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Of the seven exotic cars named "Best," in one way or another, in the new duPont Registry Exotic Car Buyer's Guide, three are Volkswagens.

You wouldn't call them Volkswagens, of course, nor will you find them at Volkswagen dealerships. But the Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and Bentley Continental GT MDS are all made by subsidiaries of the company that makes the Golf, Jetta and New Beetle.

The list also includes a Chevy. The $65,800 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was named "Best Bang for the Buck" by the magazine. With a 505-horsepower engine and a zero-to-60 time under four seconds, its performance numbers match those of cars costing several times its price.

While the Corvette is the cheapest car on the list, the Bugatti Veyron is the most expensive by a similarly wide margin. It costs $1.2 million. For that, buyers will get a 1,001 horsepower car with a potential zero-to-60 time of 2.4 seconds. The transmission is a version of the two-clutched automatic transmission used in the Audi TT.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder "looks cooler than its coupe sibling," the magazine said. It costs about $180,000 and has a top speed of 195 miles per hour.

The Bentley Continental GT MDS offers 23-inch wheels and a two-tone quilted leather interior for $173,490. Among the car's famous owners is Paris Hilton, something the magazine notes as a downside.

The BMW M6, a souped-up version of the 6-series coupe, has a 5-liter V-10 engine. The magazine calls it a "Formula 1 race car with seating for four." It has an estimated sticker price of $100,000.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom, made by BMW's ultra-high-end British subsidiary, includes such posh touches as an umbrella that dispenses from inside the door. It sells for about $330,000.

Thanks for posting. What a great article. Just goes to show that Corvette ranks among the top among all sports cars bar none, regardless of the bargain price.

I have been a huge fan of the Corvette for a long time and am glad to see the mainstream media and car buy starting to realize it's true value.

Sure it may not have a leather interior from Coach but it goes really really fast and handles really really well. That is what sports cars are about.

I am not about cruising the mall and checking out each others cars I am about out braking the other guy on the track and leting him check out my taillights.
