Hand built engines at the new GM engine plant

I was just reading about GM's new $10,000,000.00 specialty engine plant. They are going to hand build the C6 Z06 LS7. Each tech will build an entire engine start to finish. What do you guys and gals think about that? Is hand built better than a robotic build? I just visited St Catherine's and it was pretty impressive. Not everything was automated but most of it was. I am just not sure if I like the idea of a completely hand built engine but then what do I know.

Hand built is better! The exotic car makers do it, also the Ford Cobra for a while anyway.
My own LS1 engine, was converted to an LS6 + engine and was "hand-built" by my local Chevy tech, and is working better than new.

Hand built is only better if the components are better.

Let's face it - the robots building the L6's didn't cause the oil burning issues - it was the crappy parts..

I've always considered robot built item to be better. They are always to specs and don't get tired or stressed. They also don't makes mistakes, people do that.
