It has finally arrived

I am finally on my way to get my new Z06. The weather actually held out and it should be a beautiful weekend in Virginia. It arrived yesterday (Friday).
It is Machine Silver with all of the "goodies" available. Now I can sell my 2001 QS to a very anxious buyer and continue with my on-going "mid-life crisis".
Corvettes just keep getting better and I cannot wait for later years when 11-12 second quarter mile times are compared to the 14-15 second times in the 60s. Any of you "older folks" remember those days?
I will post photos as soon as possible if anyone is interested.

Regards,

Z ZERO 6

Definitely throw some pics up once you are done with your maiden voyage.. Guess the pics probably won't be available until Sunday night weather permitting!

Though I wasn't even a thought in my parents mind until the early 70s, I am also absolutely enjoying the out of the box performance available these days!! You can't beat an 11 sec. car (or better?), right off the showroom floor..

BUT... mods. are nice too..

Congratulations again and good luck!!

Congratulations! I remember those days... I live close to you. Mine should be here this month too. E55er also lives right down the road from me. We should form the NoVA C6Z chapter!

Well, the ride home was "nice". This is my 3rd Z06 (2001 & 2003) and if anyone tells you that the difference is 'minimal' then they are simply driving a different car. The 2006 is completely different. It is much more refined and the difference in performance is recognized immediately. It will take some time to get adjusted to a "button" start and the sound is perfect. I enjoy the windows that "suck" themselves up and the hatch is somewhat annoying until you get adjusted to the closing technique.
It is far more comfortable than the previous ones; at least to me.
Tomorrow is another day and we plan to drive a few hundred miles to see friends in PA. I have made up my mind that I am going to drive this one and not "take care of it for the next owner".
I WILL post some photos by next week once I figure it out and can pry myself away from the new ZZERO6.
My best regards,
Z ZERO 6

Blitz,
I notice that we share the same taste in vehicles. I have a 2000 SS Camaro (Silver of course). This car is still in my driveway and I just began the "torture" of selling it. It has EVERY GM & SLP option offered in 2000 and has a total of 3925 miles. I am asking $22K knowing that I will never get it. My wife knows that I really don't want to part with it; I ordered the car in 1999 for 2000 delivery. So, if you know of anyone that may be interested please give me a shout. Best of luck when Santa arrives.
Regards,
Z ZERO 6

Congratulations! I look forward to getting my 2007 next fall.

If I would have got mine today, I would have had to "flat bed" to my winter storage site.
