How do the seats compare between the C5 and C6 Zs?

That was my biggest complaint about my 03. Not enough wrap around or pocket in the seats. I actually preferred the standard C5 seats. Do you notice a big difference in the new Z?

There's more side bolster but not that big of a differance IMO.

I also believe the "normal" C5 seats are better then the Z06 C5s. Someday I'm going to get a set of them and change out the Zs seats.

I personally believe that the seats are night and day different. The seats in my C6Z are way more comfortable than the seats that were in my C5Z.

I sat in a new red Z the past weekend, and I really couldn't tell the difference in comfort between it and my 03 Z. It had basically the same feel IMO.

Seats in my 96 GS's had it all over, either the C5 or C6 Z's, bolster support.

My 01 Z06 had the "rocking" seat problem. The dealer "fixed" the rocking, but it lasted only a few months and I gave up on trying to fix it again. The 01 seats felt much thinner with far less padding to sit on. In contrast, the 06 Z06 has a much more comfortable (better padded) seat and the rocking doesn't appear to be an issue (I think I read that the C6 seat mounts have been redesigned). Neither car has a deep side bolster, but its enough for my tastes and it makes the car a whole lot easier to get in and out of. My wifes SRT Magnum has a much larger side bolster and its a PITA to enter/exit, although it does feel secure once your in there.

I feel the new seats need more lower back support. This is one area of dissapointment for me.

C5 ZO6 Versus C6 ZO6 seat

You can not compare the seats, the C5 was like an old Chevette seat, the back of new seat is much stronger and they have a lot better lateral support (bolster support). They are not the greatest but they wil work for most of us.

In my C5 ZO6 I tooked the seats apart and I reinforced them with a metal frame and I added bolster on each side, they are normally very flat at the shoulder level (You keep sliding out of the seat very easily)

My preference is not to move in a seat, on my C6 ZO6 I installed the Caravaggio seats, http://web.mac.com/lemobile/iWeb/CAR/ZO6.html

How do the seats compare between the C5 and C6 Zs?

My C6 Z seats are a lot more comfortable than the 03 C5 Z I had.

They're still not up to par for a $70k car but a great improvement especially the sides. I was always slipping when hitting corners hard in the 02.

I sat in a C6 Z for a bit. Maybe it was just me, but they did feel a little better. Of course, that was only a couple of mins and I can't compare it to driving the car for an hour.

Didn't notice differance

I drove a 06 Z06 for about an hour, seats didn't feel any different than my 03. Except for the power, quieter exhaust note and softer clutch feel didn't drive any different than my 03 Z. I'm still going to order a 07 in a few months. I like the way they look.

no difference ?

No difference ?? Hum ? the C5 Z06 the seats was made from a Chevette... ha ha ! No lateral support and very weak.
See the previous post with a pictures of the seats redone on my C5

The new seats on the C6 are a lot better, better support, more solid frame, I still changed mine for the Carravagio seats.
http://web.mac.com/lemobile/iWeb/CAR/ZO6.html

The C5 ZO6 is a great Vette, everytime I was driving, it was asking to be driven hard. My C6 ZO6 remind me of my ZR1 very smooth till you press the accelerator, it become a beast.
Both are great but the C6 is a class a part.
I found a big difference betwen both car, The look is one thing, the way it goes is someting else, this does not said I no longer like the C5 ZO6 as I believe it is a great Vette as my ZR1.
