If you are picking your Z up at the NCM - you might want to read this!

Unfortunately I just found out it will be atleast November before I can pick mine up.

My VIN # is 2089, built on 09/21/2005.

Since I hadn't heard anything and my dealer keeps telling me to be patient I thought I would at least check in with Gary at NCM. He was on the phone but whomever answered the main line took my information and Gary called me back within two hours.

He looked and couldn't find a file on my car or order. He said they have to have an acceptance form. I didn't know anything about that and asked him if it was something I was supposed to fill out and send, he said NO, the dealer is responsible for that. Gary said they have already scheduled through the third week of October.

I had sent an e-mail to my dealer yesterday. Here was the reply I got back:

"I understand how you feel,
I think they will doing OK, it's just the backlog right now..the bummer is I have called Gary several times and no reponse....this is getting ridiculous, but I don't want to piss him off either...

I have sent a fax requesting info on your car too....so we both wait. I hoep to know mor ein a few days. Hang in there man....my guy who got my 1st car #xxx still has not gotten his car....I plan on turning up the heat
for sure. I appreciate the email.....contact me anytime, you know that!"

Pure BS!

HE CAN'T CONTACT HIM; but, I had Gary on the line within two hours.

So it's now going to be into November if I am lucky.

Oh, and by the way, in case you think this is a small time dealer, he already has five Z06's built for customers.

P. S. just found out after I started typing this they have scheduled through the end of October.

So given the apparent backlog at NCM, will delivery be quicker if I have it shipped to the dealer? My order goes in any time now so I need to decide quick...... (speed is the priority as I'm trying to make a track event in early December)

Just my two cents but if I wanted one by December I would have it drop shipped to a dealer. I was going to do that
but my dealer talked me out of it.

Wish I had of stuck to my original plans.

Also, Gary at NCM said after they are built it takes two weeks to go through quality control.

I set mine up today, and the two dates they gave me were October 28th and like November 4th. Mine was built on 9/13.

Seems they are backed up quite a bit there, I was a little disappointed to find out today that I have to wait another 4 weeks.

It's still worth it for the experience for me, though.

You're lucky, Steve - my "quality" is still being "controlled" at the Secret Bunker
