if that is true gm will be in big trouble. i don't think anyone is going to buy it at sub 500hp... especially if its in the viper price range

ummmmmmm that doesn't sound all that good. this information means the zo6 would not be a 2900bls car, not a 500+hp car and not a great value car. hope its false. personally and i've said it before. the z06 needs to be a 2800-2900 pound car with 525+hp and 500tq. anything else is too late. GM has been playing catch up but they nee to take the lead. if the abve z06 comes out it will be instantly out gunned.
427 with 530hp and 505tq. 2920lbs. 275/345 tires. 15 inch rotors with 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. oil , power steering, rear end, tranny coolers, large radiator, cf hood and front fenders, cf backed seats, thinned glass, reduced sound material, plexi rear glass, full titanium exhaust, ect. anyone please add on whatever you want or dont want on the next Z.
I think this is all good news except for the price. I think we have a lot of dreamers on this site. S2000 weight, viper engine, all race parts etc, etc.
If GM puts 480hp into a 3000 lb car and gives it big brake, oil coolers, lots of tire and a good suspension package I think
As far as price goes gm is just making sure they can give $14000 off after the car is out for a few years
The z16 package did not have anything on it and gm was charging $57000. I would say 70-75 for a decked out c6 z would be a good guess.
At 80-90K, it's gonna have very low sales. So I don't see that. Anything less than 500 is a mistake, especially given that the cars looks are not that great to begin with.
Was informed price may be between $80,000 and $90,000

From $52,000 (or lately with the discounts $41,000) to $80,000 to $90,000 in only 2 years? ha ha. Maybe that's the price for the 2014 Z06? GM is on crack if they think they will be able to sell the Z06 for that much. If it really is that much the Viper is starting to look like a good deal.
I was talking to Fadi last night about how excited I was to start saving for the next Z06. That was based on an expected price topping out in the mid 60s. Not a chance in hell I am paying 80-90K for it... GM, if you do this, screw you.
At that price I would certainly look towards a Viper -- or possibly save another couple months and look towards a 911 Turbo. That price is bullshit.
Either that, or I will pick up a used C5 Z06 (the C5 is better looking than the C6 anyway) and do some mods to it so it can keep up. 80-90K??? GM has lost their minds.

$80-90k for a vette? nope... if that's the actual price, my next sports car will be german, start with a P and have a name that includes a 9, and 2 1's.
I hope that information is wrong or GM reconsiders, because I will also look elswhere if the price is that high and the horsepower that low.
