i have a couple differant ranges..i think the 1700-2200 range is pretty good..anything over that you gonna blow off your tires..which dont get me wrong is pretty damn fun!..=0)

Ive gone to the track 3 times now and im still trying to figure it out. So far ive been thinking like 2500-2600 and slipping the clutch is the best but i may try 2000-2300 to try and get less wheel spin. My best et so far is 12.01 but maybe going down in rpm can get me in the 11s. I think the most important thing is to not stomp on the gas pedal but "squeeze" it like there is a loaf of soft bread you are trying to smush under the pedal.

I do not recommend slipping the clutch. It just heats it up too much and then you get pre-mature clutch wear/failure.

I've drag raced my 02 Camaro SS for several years. I finished fourth in our clubs point seires last year. My car had slicks and a 12 bolt w/4:11s. Headers, pully, line lock, etc, etc, etc... I launched at 4-5k, 1.7 average 60', and ran mid 12s.

I've also road raced it several times which is hard on a clutch. All the downshifting and all. And do you know what? I still have the original clutch and it still works fine.

Get better tires if you are going to drag race. They are cheaper then smoking your clutch.

Good luck!

Problem is there arent any tires available yet. Yes tires are cheaper than a clutch...but a clutch is cheaper than the rest of the driveline i.e. breaking halfshafts and stuff like that.

True, but that is the risk of drag racing. If you plan on drag racing, set the car up to handle it. Buy the beefed up parts that are at risk. I did, and it never broke at the track.
