Can some tell me what optional seats are /were available for the Z06. I hear LT1,2,3 but have no clue that that means. Can some one help out? Also how can you tell which seat you have.
Thanks

There are no optional seats available for the Z06 from the factory when ordering the car.
There are currently three trim options for the Z06: 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ, but all three include the same seats. The only difference in the seats is available trim color. In addition, the drivers seat memory function is not available with trim code 1LZ.
The Z06 options would be PEG 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ. The 3LZ I think is only an option for 08 and does come with different seats. The PEG options doesn't affect the seats. Although, the seats can be had in the black, titanium, and red.
The '08 seats are the same as the '06 and '07 seats. All Z06 seats are the same.
Again, the only differences are color, including custom color combinations, and whether or not they have memory (available with 2LZ and 3LZ PEGs only). They are otherwise structurally identical.
The ZR1 will have a 6-way adjustable (electric) passenger side seat, whereas the Z06 does not.
If you're asking whether or not there is an optional 'race seat' or some other structurally different design available from GM, the answer is no. That does not preclude one from installing an aftermarket seat or seats, however.

All 3 answers say no differance, yet some have lumbar support some have heat, or do they all have lumbar and heat????? (On the drivers side?) I also thought that some options included power seats for both driver and passenger. I seems confusing since all the seat for sale ads seem to differntiate the package with memory no memory, heat no heat lumbar no lumbar.
I hope the ZR1 seat can hold you better than the stock seats they need to offer a better seat for people that really use the car on the HPDE events and are not always on the track, (where a race seat would be the proper call for mostly track use or show use.)

Also, side airbags are on the LZ2 and lz3 package, I believe. This is not well mentioned by GM, but there you go.
I like my seats, but you're right, they are less performance based, more comfort. I think it's not a bad setup really, the car is tight like a hard tail, and the seats are like those spingy seats on old Harley hardtails!. The seats, BTW are made by Lear. I would think not many people who buy a ZR1 will track it (with turns). And those who do can probably afford a new seat.
I have on '05 coupe with full power everything seats. When I got the 2006 Z06 it had the highest trim level available and came with side airbags and are heated both sides. However, only the driver's side had full power adjustable position and the passenger seat was only manual. Neither side had adjustable lumbar support or side bolsters.
The first thing my wife complained about when we first went driving was that she couldn't tilt her seat bottom, adjust the height, or adjust the lumbar support like in the '05. On a long road trip I missed the adjustable lumbar support - it's amazing how just a very small adjustment of seat tilt or the lumbar support can make sitting in the seat for long periods much more comfortable.
So.....I got a set of full power everything seats out of a 2007 regular C6 and stuck them in the Z!!! Well....it wasn't that easy, but following Ray's great DIY instructions ( Z06 Power Seats ) I took the skins off my Z06 seats and reskinned the C6 seats, ran a power wire (I don't have OnStar, so that saved a little work), and now I have full power heated seats with lumbar/side bolster adjustments on both sides!!!
I don't know why you couldn't order this from the factory!?!? My car is a GT car. It sees HPDE action, but when I'm driving 600 miles to VIR next month I want to be comfortable getting there! Yeah, it added about 15 pounds, but I sure do like the lumbar/bolster adjustment on my seat, and I especially like hearing less complaining from the right seat.

Here's the driver's side with full power position adustability and the 2 flat switches for the lumbar and bolster adustment. You can see the red-stitched Z06 skins I took off the Z06 seats and put on the C6 seats:
And here's the passenger seat with the same switches for full adjustability:

I will be doing the same thing with my seats however I couldn't find seats with the lumbar and heat already in them, so I got a 2006 Z06 drivers seat and will use that on the passenger side and add the lumbar and heat elements like the other gentleman did, to both seats. (Where did you find the C6 seat with the lumbar and heat element in it, (how much)?) It is a little more work but it should be just as good. I will also be taking the seats, (my driver seat and the new driver seat to a upholsterer to add some height to the bottom and side bolsters, cut the holes for the harness in the back and the seat bottom and then re-skin the seats with black leather and red sticking like you did.
Allot of work but it's the only solution if you’re not a skinny guy. If I had a 34-36 waist, the Caravaggio’s would have been on the car already. But I have a 39-40 inch waist so that killed the Caravaggio’s. And all the other seats require a non-power mounting system.

Re: Optional seats on the Z06
Dont forget that the drivers seat has a side impact air bag which will be on the wrong side if you swap it to the other side. I had this problem when I shipped my C6 ZO8 to New Zealand and converted the car to right hand drive. We swapped the seats over to give the new drivers side the electric seats but swapped the backs over before reinstalling them on the other sides. This allowed us to retain the correct side air bag positions on the sides of the seats. Worked a treat. Would love to have electric seats on the wifes side though like Bob. Might have to locate a LH base and recover it with my seat cover like Bob.

I got my pair of C6 seats for just less than $1,000 and I've seen a couple pair advertised recently on another forum for about $1,000. I think I can recoup some of that by selling the left over parts. I've seen the seat covers being sold for about $350. I haven't put the C6 covers on the Z06 seats, but I could do that and offer the entire seats for sale.
I did the work myself, but if I had wanted some more foam added to the cushions I would have taken it to an upholtery shop like you mention. I used the C6 seat cover as a template and sketched out the area I needed to cut out on my Z06 seat cover for the switches, then just used a pair of scissors to cut it out.
Good luck upgrading your seats - it sure is nice having the full power and lumbar and bolster adjustability on both sides.
