performance upgrades for track with full cost breakdown for thoes interested.
hey fellas my name is ben, im new to the world of corvettes but not new to modding cars. i just bought a new c6 z06 last week and plan to upgrade certain parts after my first auto-x or track meet to help give insight to the benefits of modifications and their costs. i will have full pictures and a few pictorials as mods are done so it will be like a documented "diy".
i will show pics of the first track day then give an opinion of what needs help to make the car perform better. first mods will consist of braided brake lines, upgraded fluid, upgraded pads front and rear, i will then explore coilovers which i am currently doing tons of research on to make a pick. then i will get into intake mods, then cat back exhausts, then ecu tuning.
if the install is something i can do at home i will take pics of how to do it then post them up here for all to look at. as always i will post what was spent so others can reference for future use. i will keep this thread updated as i go, and will be posting pics a week from today to show the car stock and go from there.
if anybody has any input, please do give what u guys think.
i hope this is helpfull for all.

Looking foward to your findings! Especially the brake pads and rotors you determine to work. I am trying to keep the calipers but realize the pads and rotors aren't going to cut it. Good luck

thanks denny for the welcome!
i will be starting on willow springs raceway in rosamond ca, or ca speedway in fontana ca.
as for brake cooling if you mean ducting yes i will be working on something to direct airflow to the rear of the rotor but not sure how yet.
and on tires i have had great success with michelin pilot sport cups and v700 kuhmos so i will be experimenting from there.

I'm really curious as to what (if any) speed causes the TCS/AH to get upset with wrong-sized tires. The track I plan to frequent the most for the rest of the season can see a C6Z hitting 170+ on the main straight. I'd probably have heart failure if the TCS suddenly jumped on at anywhere near that kind of speed.
As for the moment, I'm going to grab a set of Pilot Sport Cups, so if I have any TCS experiences I'll relate them to the board.

Check RocketSled's /s/ for a link to a handy-dandy calculator ...
'course, you can turn off AH/TC and "run nakid" ...
Actually, with track tires, you probably will anyway ... but good to have the nannys on wet track conditions. ...
