FEAR THE MIATA
Kerbeck sucks. Didn't even return my call and I have read that they are marking them up. Get on Google and start dialing up obscure Chevrolet dealers (you would be amazed how many Alabama, Arkansas dealers are out there) and see if they have an allocation. Everyone with money tries the big boys thinking they can get em one. The dealer I got mine from had an allocation for only one and it was taken. I said well do you mind holding a $500 deposit for a unit at MSRP if you get one? They said no problem but emphasized they were doubtful. Well that was July and just took delivery last week from the Museum. I was 192 at Les Stanford (#2 dealer) back in July and they informed me that it was unlikely that I would get an 06. Don't try the big boys. Find a little dealer. It worked for me. I had three deposits out there and the one I thought would be last, came through.
Well, when I purchased my 2002 from them, they had the best deal around...bar none. I made ONE phone call to them, spoke to someone in sales, drove down the very next day and drove home with my Z. No one even came close to their price. They're STILL the biggest Corvette dealer in the country and, being pretty local to them, I bet if anyone is SERIOUS about a purchase, a visit to their location would yield much better results than waiting for a return phone call.
Just an FYI, I was supposedly on an "MSRP list" for Kerbek's so called additional alotment. When the alotment hit I was to send my $5,000 deposit. Well the alotment hit about three weeks ago. I retruned the salesman call and then was told by the salesman that the car was now $10,000 over MSRP. I have officially moved on to another brand/car. That was the third strike for me and I am now out....

I'm sorry to hear that! I fully understand your displeasure with that dealership. After my experience with them (although 4 years ago) I'm surprised by what happened to you. I just had better expectations of them. Three strikes would certainly discourage me too.
My first strike was my local dealer keeping my $3,000 deposit for over four months then coming back and saying sorry, we are not getting a Z like we thought, care to buy something else. Second strike was a small MD dealer that spoke to my best frined who then told them I was a "spurned" cash buyer looking for a Z. They had a line on a black one at $1,000 over MSRP. Needless to say my deposit was canceled when I was told the car was ready for delivery but it was priced at $9,800 over sticker, not the agreed upon $1,000 over. Kerbeck was my fall back plan but as it turns out the last straw/third strike.
I am now buying a first edition Viper Coupe and moving on. Sad, but with the way I was treated three different times I think it will be sometime before I buy antoher GM product. No letter writing, no crying, no phone calls to GM complaing about bad business practices, etc. I am just taking my money somewhere else.....
