Procharged C6-Z06 goes "boom"

Apparently, this was a test mule for the folks at Procharger...only 6 psi.

6 pounds of boost, 620rwhp, and it shot the number 7 piston out of the block on the way home from the dyno.

Too much damn compression. Although my S2000 took to 6lbs of boost like a duck to water, stock motor and thats an 11:1 motor as well.

No surpise. Factory hyperjunks - especially at the compression ratio - just are not going to survive boost for very long.

I wonder what they used for tuning? Maybe one of these?

I wonder how they tuned it without software.

I know guys that are running quite a bit more psi on a stock 346 at 11:1.

The LS2 is also 11:1 cr and I haven't heard of them not handling 6 lbs of boost. Something else is going on here.

But what the hell do I know with only 1 post?

My friends S2000 ran 6psi of front mount intercooled boost and ran perfect. He decided that wasn't enough and threw on a smaller pulley and ran 10psi and it held up fine. But then again he didn't drive it much after he upped the boost.
