I still haven't got my order in yet. I was guranteed MSRP, but this is redicualous. They say they have allocation, but they have been waiting on polished wheels. Also, I am number #1 at this dealership, but then again they sell only dozen Vettes a year.
I think I am going to get my thousand bucks back. This is my dream car, but it seems to be to damn hard to get. I can pay cash in full too. I guess they don't want my money.
What else can I do? I hate buying a car. So stressful.
I got in line in January and 1 year latter I'll be glad if I know if I am even getting a car this model year. More than likely with production problems I'll be looking at a 2007 model.
Production rates will pick up and cars will be coming.
Wow, I guess all my CONTINOUS searching and calling many Dealerships paid off. I found a Dealer out of state that had an retail allocation in the system at 2000, accepted order by GM. He agreed to take 3K over...he changed the color from yellow (not my taste) to black (ya..)... it is allocated the polished wheels (at least it still says so on the ordersheet, does this mean they are reserved for this car?)...2LZ/NAV. Should be around Mid-Feb if all goes well!
I had one at 1100 back east that was supposed to go into the system after the 1st of the year for 2k over, but I decided an extra grand is worth it to me knowing that the deal will really happen.
Thought it was cool that when he faxed me the ordersheet he wrote Merry Christmas and Congratulations on the fax....It IS a Merry Christmas!
It took me two years to get the car before this Vette, and a while to get this car.
You just have to be patient as someone else said. When you desire a hot new car, with a lot of demand, you have to learn to be patient, or you will suffer a great deal of frustration.
Are you afraid that for some reason that if you don't get one right away, there won't ever be one for you?
I have read on other forums (yes..I do look at them ) that since the wheel manufacturer went bankrupt, starting with the early Jan build, all wheels will be painted. So even if you have an order at 2000 for the polished wheels, it will more than likely come with the painted wheels. You may want to PM JDogg for further info on this issue.

Welcome to my world! I put my name on a list November of 2004 and I am in the same boat as you! Its winter time here in the north east wait and see what happens thats what I am doing!

Geez...all this concern for MY money! Wow... I would have thought that someone would have congratulated me I guess it's nice that everyone is so concerned for my well being
Do I sound frustrated?...NOT... I am PUMPED!
This is my 5th Vette, and 3rd Z. I buy & sell cars because I LIKE UM! I have very rarely lost on any car deal, like I said, I made it up on the turbo sale.
What about all the MODS, that sometimes cost thousands, that everyone puts on their Z's after purchase because they are "apparently" not quite happy with their cars power. This is a personal, EMOTIONAL (frustration??), action, which does nothing for resale value (but plenty for SOP fun!) I see that as almost the same thing as paying a bit over MSRP to get what I want.
I am not responding to start a flame war, just very surprised at the lecture type responses thus far...
Either way...MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL of YOU Guys/Gals! And especially you JC!

forget the polished wheels...if your dealer has had Z allocation.....(sounds like he does not) and passed because of the QL9's...
you and he are out of luck.
Estimated ships for next month are available in fact,
exactly what week the orders are to be pulled are also available through 1/12/06.
Get on the phone!
I love the car, but I am not one that likes to get dicked around.
It is not the fact that I am waiting so long, but that I have no idea when I will be able to get an order in place.
it's too bad guys can't keep you in the loop of info and proper info, not BS.
I apologize for those dealer that choose NOt to do thier jobs with pride....just heard from a guy in PA...ordered his car....actually got allocation pulled....was suppose to be a black car 2LZ, but came in Blue with the 1LT....
dealer tried this mumbo jumbo story on him.....bottom line, the dealer has to approve the order and this guy is out of luck...unless he gets another allocation and you guys already know what's that's all about.
I wish you all well.
