Question on Deposits

Since it is apparant that I'm not going to get an 06, if I can find a dealer that would sell me one at sticker for an 07, how does it work if I put a deposit down, and then I come across an 06, do I lose my deposit? How does that work?

Virtually all deposits are refundable if you do not take delivery. They are guaranteed to be refundable, if you have a signed agreement stating such.

Every dealer i have ever asked (or deposited) money at says that it's refundable. I think it is the law if you dont get the car they have to give it back.

The way you should go about doing this is get something in writing on official dealership paperwork that says you are on the list, or awaiting delivery or whatever for a 2007 z06 (get as specific as you want so you feel comfortable). Then make sure it says that you are getting the car for MSRP and you have place a $#### (usually 1,000) deposit down.

Just cover yourself so you can take legal action if something goes wrong. Most dealers know whats on the line and are very straight forward about the agreed price/deposit process.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it.

I just now need to find a dealer that will around here. I really don't want to drive all over the U.S. for this car.

You can buy the car from any Dealer and have a Courtesy Delivery to the participating Dealer of your choice for a nominal fee. Just make sure that it's ordered by the selling dealer that way.

oh that's cool. Thanks. I think if I get to actually order one as opposed to picking one up at a dealer I'm going to do the musuem option.
