Ditto... just took for it's first "spirited" ride tonight since I got it back from the dealer last Monday (been a busy past week).
When backing out of the driveway cold and turning the wheel...nothing. U-turn with steering dead locked to the left...nothing. Parking lot turning...nothing.
I was going to post a new thread but this looks like the problem I'm having.
When taking off I hear a distinct clunking type sound coming from the rear but just in 1st & 2nd gears.
And I'm interested too if there is a service bulletin out on this??
Ok, almost a year later and I finally followed the TSB and had them replace the rear end grease and add the additive. The first time I called my dealer a guy I normally don't deal with said that TSB's weren't covered under the warranty. When I picked up the car my regular service advisor had had the work done and charged GM $126 under the warranty.
I've only had it back one week and have only heard the chatter one brief second, so we will see but it definitely has quietened it down.
My 06 Z06 had noise and handling issues from the transaxle. I had multiple flushes and a clutch pack replacement. The result was less noise but a left to right slewing during straight line acceleration. The transaxle was replaced at 19k miles and there have been no prolems since.

My dealer fixes all TSB's at no cost to me. They even replaced the seat cover on the driver side where the seat belt tore it.
Since the flush and fluid change didn't help I had the clutch packs put in this spring and there has been no chatter since.

My dealer changed the diff fluid last spring at about 10k miles. He pointed out to me that it was noisy. I had been ignoring it. The fluid change worked for a while but now at 18k miles, the chatter is back worse than before. I am going to change to AMSOIL Severe Gear Synthetic EP 75W90 + their slip lock additive and do the job myself in a last ditch effort to avoid clutch pack replacement.
Anyone else DIY differential fluid change on a Z?? Any helpful advice?? I already have a 10mm allen head socket for the fill plug. A spring clip apparently holds the pump inlet tube at the carrier bottom quick disconnect fitting where the drain is located.
Thanks.

I did the diff fluid change last Friday afternoon. Used two qts & ~12oz of AMSOIL Severe Gear EP 75W90 and about 5 ozs of their Slip Lock Additive. I did my figure 8s afterward. The chattering is gone and gone immediately. Will this be the long term solution?? Only time will tell for my daily driver.

To reply to the question you asked about the base model and Z06 model clutch packs the answer is no. The Z06 comes with carbon fiber plates and stronger bellville springs. The other vettes (coupes and convertible) and C5 vettes come with sintered bronze clutch plates. The also have a different set of bellville springs. As for a fix I am sure GM is working on it. You can bet they don't want the Corvette community upset.

Replacing the clutch packs is the only long term solution.
I work for a Chevy dealership. There was a change to the TSB a little while ago. They went from 1 bottle of additive to 2. From what I have seen it is working. The first flush never works. It is normally fixed by the secound.
