Rear mounted battery

Hey, can someone please post pics of the rear mounted battery? I'm curious to see if a different one will fit in there (i.e. Optima Yellow-Top or RedTop). Also, is the cover sealed? I.e. to prevent any odors from an otherwise leaking battery from getting into the cabin?

The cover is not sealed, and I think you would have to measure the compartment to figure out what would fit in there.

I have the Lingenfelter kit and it's the best one out there and it's designed for the car.

17 pages of instructions with pictures.

I retired my yellow top Optima and use a Hawker Odyssey Battery.

It fits in the big center hole, and I have a hole cover.

The LPE kit comes with a plastic battery box which meets SCCA and NHRA battery box standards. The Hawker battery has no liquid in it to ever spill even if the battery itself is split open in an accident. The battery is completely sealed in the box.

No pics, but LPE has some on their website. It's very kewl and absolutely professional kit, but it's a pretty big job, and it's not cheap!!

HTH

I have no idea what you're talking about. There is no center hole in the hatch area of a C6, Z06 or otherwise. The C6 Z06 comes with the battery in the rear passenger side compartment. Now, start from there and tell me what Ligenfelter has to do with whether an Optima will fit in there.

I would recommend an Odyssey rather than an Optima.

Lighter, better battery.
