Saw My First Real-Life C6 Z

Around 4:00 PM (PST)… the other day… it was raining (California…. 91-freeway / parking lot), so traffic was moving around 60-ish. I was in my SUV on the way home, when I scoped a brand-new, black, 06 Z06 just cruising along on the wet roads. My first thought was “who would have their jewel out in this nasty whether?” That thought soon gave-way to…. “hey, I’ve finally got an opportunity to see one in action!”

Naturally, I sped-up a little …. Just enough to get a closer look without “spooking” the guy (all us Z06-drivers suffer from twitchy-right-foot disease… if anything gets too close, we twitch, and they become smaller & smaller in the mirror… he-he ). Anyway, for the next 20 miles, I was able to get a good look at the car in its moving, real-life configuration…. YES!!! 20 miles (I told you this was California... we may not get to go fast... but we do go long )

My humble Opinion:

GM got it good!

The new Z is much more impressive than the coupe or convertible. The Z’s accentuated “muscles” (fender flairs, etc.) truly give the car a very pronounced and aggressive stance – and viewing pictures in magazines just don’t cover how impressive the car looks.

At certain angles, the view was reminiscent of the C3…. Other times, I could’ve sworn there was some C4 peaking through.

In the end, no matter what those “experts” say, when you see a C6 – Z06 trolling along the freeway, you’ll certainly know that if you challenge it, you’d better bring all your marbles to the game. Of course, those of us with C5 – Z’s already know that many-a-driver can’t handle that beast. So, while the car may be up to it….. let’s hope the driver can cope with the added performance.

Anyway....Great Car!

I'd never trade my 03... but I might be tempted to give it a brother

Great way to describe it.

Great review/opinion as well. I've only seen 4 so far: 2 were on a semi/car-carrier, 1 passed me when I was standing in a parking lot, & the other was at the Chevy dealership for the North Florida Corvette Club meeting... They were all awesome looking (& sounding).

Hopefully, there will be one in my future...
