Shifter knob question

I would like to get a different shifter knob for my 08Z. Can you remove the leather covered one and replace it. I want a white or black ball shifter knob like many of the 60 muscle cars had (i.e., my 70 Goat and to some extent my 67 big block vette. Thanks.

Re: Shifter knob question

I *think* you just pull the boot down and unscrew the torx-head screw at the base of the knob (I have an 08Z shifter on my C5Z and when Don and I installed it, that's what we did to attach the knob ... no "demon key" or any of that nonsense.

I know a guy that did just that. He has one of the white ball "old school" shift knobs. I just don't know where he got it. Check out some sites to see if you can find it. Good luck.

Re: Shifter knob question

post a few pictures once you get it on. I was thinking about changing it too.
